With a strong presence in the Southeast, and numerous growth plans on the horizon, we are recruiting for a Health & Safety Manager to help support our goals of achieving world class safety performance. The Health & Safety Manager will be expected to dedicate themselves to aligning the safety programs of our current locations and supporting the growth of our organization.
Key Responsibilities for the Position
- Provide daily guidance and direction in all Safety programs to ensure a common and effective approach;
- Keep senior leadership abreast of legislative developments that may have an impact on our operations;
- Train regularly on all federal, state and local environmental regulations, requirements and guidelines; follows and adheres to all guidelines, regulations, and requirements;
- Manage medical surveillance program at assigned facilities;
- Effectively communicate changes to site procedures and policies to impacted parties;
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate excellence in the areas of:
- OSHA standards as they apply to general industry;
- Training program development and delivery;
- Incident investigation, analysis, and corrective action implementation;
- Organizational skills and the ability to execute within established deadlines;
- Written and verbal communication skills; and
- Intermediate to expert level knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.);
Basic Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this position, the candidate must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in the safety/environmental field, or other technical discipline;
- In lieu of a Bachelor of Science degree, an Associate degree along with significant (10+ years) work experience in the safety field coupled with relevant professional certifications;
- Four to six years’ experience in the EHS field, with an emphasis in program development, implementation, risk assessment, as well as training program development and delivery;
- Advanced knowledge of applicable OSHA, state, and local rules and regulations for the areas in which we operate;
- Ability to successfully complete pre-employment drug & alcohol screen, pre-employment physical examination, and background check upon receiving an offer of employment;
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and driving history satisfactory with our companies standards, and its insurer;
- Ability to travel in order to satisfy the requirements of the position
